View and a plan of the Baghdad fortifications, comes from one editions of A.M. Mallet's Description de l' Univers Allaina Manesson Malleta published in Paris in 1683. Book became very popular , soon another editions and translations appeared.
This engraving comes from later German edition titled Beschreibung des gantzen Welt-Kreises , published in Frankfurt (am Main) 1684/85-1719.
